Scottsdale: Dark-Stained Kitchen and Bar Cabinets Painted White

Summary

We painted a Scottsdale kitchen and bar full of dark, wood-stained raised-panel cabinets white. The kitchen sits under high ceilings with a second-floor overlook.

The challenge

• The raised-panel kitchen and bar cabinets had a dark cherry-tone stain, including several glass-front uppers and a built-in oven and microwave tower.
• The kitchen is open to a tall two-story space, so the countertops, backsplash, appliances, floors, and walls all needed full protection before any coating went on.

What we did

• Masking and protection: we sheeted the countertops, backsplash, glass-front interiors, and appliances in plastic, taped their edges, and covered the floors with paper.
• Doors and drawer fronts: we removed them and finished them separately. They were sprayed outdoors on racks.
• Cabinet boxes and face frames: painted white in place.

The result

A white kitchen and bar that brightens the whole open space, with the raised-panel profile kept crisp. A close-up of a finished door shows an even coat over the raised panel and its edges.

Licensed and insured. Cabinet work carries a 2-year warranty.
